HG Programs & Activites
HG WOMEN'S PROJECT
HGWP helps women connect in a variety of ways in the context of theatre arts. Since its inception, women have had greater opportunities to act, but also to write, direct, design (sets and lights), run sound and light boards, and produce eclectic entertainment for Northcentral Pennsylvania. Some seasons there are opportunities for men to act, direct, help backstage, and take workshops. We are grateful for several grants over the years from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and for our loyal sponsors.
For over 20 years, HG has been providing area children opportunities to pursue their love of music through concert choirs and the yearly choir trip. Open to children in grades 2 - 12, the choir program performs three concerts each year as well as other engagements upon request.
THEATRE ARTS CAMP - You are invited to be in the cast of Junie B Jones Jr during Hamilton-Gibson Productions' Winter Theatre Arts Camp for kids in grades 3-9
Always a fun time, the Acting Up! group meets twice a month to read aloud scripts and short stories. Open to the young at heart, over 55 crowd, the program is intended to be an informal gathering of seniors who love theatre and want to experience a taste of acting but would prefer to read lines over memorization and taking the stage in front of an audience.
Several times a year, HG hosts theatre trips to see some incredible shows! These fundraising trips often include the Stratford Festival in Ontario, the Shaw Festival at Niagara-On-The-Lake Ontario and an overnight excursion to the theatre district in Cleveland, OH. If you would like to join our theatre trip mailing list so that you are alerted about the next scheduled trip, please complete the contact form here.
Generously sponsored each year by Eugene Seelye, the HG internship program offers an opportunity for an individual who is interested in theatre to work with the HG director and operations manager to produce and market upcoming stage plays. It is an immersive experience into the behind the scenes efforts to put together an engaging season for the community. To apply for the internship program, please call the office at 570-724-2079 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
