Wellsboro Camp: At the Deane Center for the Performing Arts in Wellsboro for students in grades 3-9 who live in Wellsboro and Southern Tioga School Districts. The camp is free thanks to the Laurel Health Foundation. All students who register will be in the show. Auditions for roles will be held on the first day of camp, February 19, at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts. Camp will run after school on selected days from February 19 - March 6, and culminate with two public performances at 7:00PM on March 7 & 8.

Charley Maplewood has never been one for parties – that would require friends, which he doesn’t have. Well, unless you count his monster friends, but they’re only imaginary. But now that he’s turning ten—the big one-oh—he decides to throw a birthday party for himself, complete with a “House of Horrors” theme. Of course, things don’t work out as he plans. Will Charley be able to pull it together before the big one-oh becomes the big OH-NO!?
Based on the beloved book, The Big One-Oh! JR. features lyrics by Academy Award-winner (Fame, Footloose) Dean Pitchford, the author of the novel; music by three-time Tony-winner Doug Besterman (The Producers, Fosse, Elf, Young Frankenstein), and a book by iTheatric's award-winning playwright Timothy Allen McDonald (Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka, James and the Giant Peach).

Activities include: Vocal training, expression, character building, singing, dancing, and stagecraft culminating in performances of the show, The Big One-Oh Jr.
Fees: The camp is FREE to all participants. Admission to the public performance is pay-what-you-can.
Responsibilities:
Participants are expected to be at all scheduled rehearsals unless you've indicated otherwise on your registration form.
Participants are expected to memorize lines and songs on their own.
Participants are expected to communicate any questions or concerns to the director.
Participants will provide most of your own contemporary costume, including soft-soled shoes.
Participants are expected to be respectful of others and the rehearsal space, and be attentive, positive and committed. Lack of motivation or cooperation may result in a student being released from the opportunity to participate.
