Hamilton-Gibson Women's Project
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Hamilton-Gibson Women's Project is to provide opportunities for women* of all ages to enrich and empower their lives through community performing arts. We will create more and diverse roles for women in plays and offer workshops on the full range of theatre skills. As an incubator for female creativity, we will enrich Hamilton-Gibson Productions by funneling trained and talented women into positions onstage and backstage, in the green room and the boardroom.

WANDER WOMEN
The Hamilton-Gibson Women’s Project is setting out on a new adventure and we want you to come with us!
Wander Women will be an original, ensemble-based theatrical production under the creative direction of Kacy Hagan exploring women’s experiences of travel and the courage, curiosity, resilience, and discovery that can come from going somewhere beyond the familiar. The performances for Wander Women will be in late April/early May 2027.
Through original monologues, short scenes, and other creative theatrical pieces, we’ll follow women as they journey across oceans or just a few miles: setting out on adventures, taking unfamiliar roads, traveling alone or together, leaving home, returning to places they once knew, relocating, escaping, searching, and sometimes simply ending up somewhere they never expected.
Travel is the thread that connects these stories, but the heart of Wander Women is what happens because of the journey. It is a celebration of female empowerment through exploration - of what women discover about the world, about one another, and about themselves when they go somewhere else and experience what they find along the way.
Have a story to tell?
We’re seeking original monologues, short scenes, and other theatrical pieces centered on women and experiences of travel and exploration. Journeys can span continents or just a few miles—what matters is that the journey matters to the story.
Upcoming Workshops
Writing for the Stage Workshop Series:
October 5, October 19, and November 2, 2026
Led by Lilace Guignard, for anyone interested in turning an idea, memory, or story for Wander Women into a theatrical piece ready to be performed.
Participation in the workshop is not required to submit a piece for consideration for Wander Women, and attending the workshop does not guarantee selection for the final production. Interested individuals may attend any or all sessions of the workshop.
Directing Short Scenes & Monologues Workshop: January 2026
Led by Jessie Thompson, for those interested in exploring how to take a short scene or monologue and bring it to life onstage.
Details on this workshop will be sent out closer to January.
