There is an art to conning. If not, we wouldn't fall for the ubiquitous scammers we all too often encounter these days. How do they do it so well? Ah, perhaps if we knew that they wouldn't be so successful. Ken Ludwig's Leading Ladies offers a unique opportunity for us to get into the mind of two con artists and see just how they work—however bumbling and ineffective they may be. Actually Mark Twain offered the opportunity over 150 years ago with two characters in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn; two rogues try to swindle an old lady out of her inheritance. Ludwig does the same in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1955.
