Shaw Festival Trip
In 2006 Hamilton-Gibson decided to include a day trip to this vibrant and accomplished Canadian repertory theatre company in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, just across the border.
In early May of each year, a Benedict’s bus takes several dozen local theatre enthusiasts to spend a Saturday afternoon in the “loveliest town in Ontario.” Besides attending a play by George Bernard Shaw or one of his contemporaries—or a vintage Broadway musical, participants enjoy other features of this historic Canadian village. Situated at the mouth of the Niagara River, the town is known for its floral parks and walkways, period homes, and fine shops and restaurants.
