UPDATE ON BORDER CROSSING I.D. REGULATIONS!
The new Federal regulation requiring U.S. citizens entering the U.S. from Canada to have a valid U.S. Passport (or Passport Card) is scheduled to be implemented during the summer of 2008. Unofficial word is that the requirement won’t go into effect until 2009, but don’t delay. If you’re considering this trip and don’t have a current passport, be sure you apply for one now! The cost of a Passport is about $100. A Passport Card, good for land crossings only, is about $50. Start at the Prothonotary’s office at the Court House. (Estimated turn-around time: 6-8 weeks)
